                              Daniel expo and foot

Daniel expo was christian men from south nigeria who serving in Nigerian army . He was in infantry and was promoted to sergeant. Radical islam was sweeping North Africa and Nigeria with its large muslim population was not unaffected from it. Boko haram was one such movement which was spreading violence in name of religion , kidnapping young girls, sexual violence , attacks on non believer and army bases. Nigerian army with its corrupt Generals was unable to control soon had ignominy of having its bases overrun by motivated rebels. Stung by reverse Army fought back , its casualty increased , wounded soldier were initially treated at army hospitals. But many injuries were too much for doctors at military hospitals and they were sent abroad for treatment, good for morale of army.
Daniel was on patrol when he was ambushed by boko haram, their patrol came under fire and Daniel foot were blasted by IED blast. Blast was intense and both feet were injured.Left lower extremity was severely injured and was promptly amputated . Right foot had a hind foot wound which surgeons in Nigeria tried to cover it by reverse sural flap. Lack of bulk meant that it promptly broke down and underlying bone got infected .Loss of one extremity and prospect of losing another extremity led to nearly rebellion in the ranks. So in order to pacify the soldiers, Daniel was packed to India for treatment.
In India Daniel was treated in fortis gurgaon by a orthopedic team they did the debridement and put VAC dressing. Subsequently it downed on them that it needs flap cover so a plastic surgeon was requisitioned he suggested a microvascular flap at a very high price. In quest for cure they landed at Paras hospital , they have a plastic surgeon who does not do microvascular surgery. I was called and it was decided I would be doing the case . I was assured only minimum fee for the case which I agreed.
