22-year old Nigerian fight backs Arteriovenous Malformation

I had endearing interest in treating vascular malformations. Capillary , Venous malformations are easy to treat . Arterio Venous malformations commonly known as AVM are little challenging to treat. Blood loss , distal ischemia, limb loss are constant danger, it takes little learning curve to  master the management of AVM.
Mary was a 22 years old lady who come to my OPD in Fortis Gurgaon . She had AVM in right hand involving radial artery and dorsal veins . Since her puberty it was bothering her pain, ischemia and bleeding was constant reminder of its presence. She had two surgery in Nigeria which were successful to certain extent. She had a wound which was not healing for nine months, in frustration she decided to come to India. India enjoy fairly good reputation in private healthcare industry.

I examined her and decided that she needs excision of AVM and groin flap cover for the wound. we operated her on 5/5/17 in which I excised her AVM. We mobilized skin flaps to cover her wound , which break downed in due course of time .On 22/5/17 she under went groin flap cover , which was duly divided after three weeks . Eventually all her wounds healed, her mood brightened and she was happy when she left India. This little documentary was made by treatment traveler a medical tourism company which  facilitated her stay in India.
